Our Fall Communique

“Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known.” ~ Carl Sagan

Greetings friends -

It is an overdue post that I send from the forests of the Pacific Northwest, where the days have grown noticeably shorter and the leaves brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow. Life here moves both fast and slow; there is constant change and yet we are learning to negotiate these shifts in a more gentle and laid-back fashion.

We are still in the very beginnings of reworking a smallish portion of forested land into a habitable destination and yet each accomplishment, no matter how small, feels as though we are that much closer to our creation. This is at the heart of my letter to you: we are each of us capable of great transformation. Our will, wit, determination, courage, and desire are just a handful of the qualities we posses and among the most necessary of skills if we are to evolve. And there is no shortage of ways in which we may do so. You may choose to travel to some place that you have never been, or learn a new craft. You may read an outlandish story or order a dish that has ingredients you’ve never tasted. You may dream of doing something outside of your comfort zone or simply be more present to that which enables you to be comfortable, but whatever it might be - now is the time to nurture it into existence. I realize that the adventure of life will often set us in opposing directions and the circumstances of the last 2 years have at the very least done some of that. But the colors of our own transformation take on a new hue when witnessed by those who have known us, and have given us the grace and the room to grow. And so, if you are reading this I offer my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude for being my witness and for giving me room to grow, and I fervently hope that I have held for you the space to do the same. For we all grow better together.

I am so thankful to continue offering classes online and thrilled at how many of you join me! I believe our practice is too unique and rich to set aside and so I am glad to have a community to move with still. You are invited to drop in as time permits and say hello to old friends; please do find our single class on the registration options. On some tasks I find myself delayed but the class schedule remains up-to-date.

If you are interested in reading further about our plans and see what it is we are building, I invite you to take a look at our campaign. This is not only so that I will not have to reinvent the proverbial wheel in words in a newsletter, but give you an idea of the scope of our undertaking and what I hope to, eventually, share in person with you all.

Your partner in adventure,
Alison
