Imagine if you were given an opportunity to change the world. That you had the chance to alter our collective interpretation of humanity at large, and change our perspective of one another. If you could give the world a gift, what might it be?
Our differences are often the source of conflict between us. One of the perspectives that the Bowspring practice offers is a common template for us to give ourselves the gift of freedom. Freedom from chronic pain, from repeating patterns that don’t serve us, as well as the freedom to grow as much as is possible in this life.
Our physical template contains 3 spheres; those of the heart, hips and head. In between each sphere is the length of a spool. The hips widen as they move back and down, and from there the spool of the waist narrows and tapers in and up, to meet the sphere of the heart. The sphere of the ribs too widens in all directions to move upward with life to meet the spool of the neck. The neck narrows and lengthens to support the lift of the sphere of the head, and the head to move forward, up and then back. When the spaces of the spheres and the length of the spools are aligned, rising up is nearly effortless from the common ground under our feet. This is a template for freedom in the body that doesn’t work for just a few, but for everyone.
Our differences need not be a source of growing apart, but instead a reason to come together. To see and understand with compassion the similarities in our patterns of thought, word and action. Let us together discover new ways of being so that we may rise up, for the better of our collective experience. I can’t wait to see you on your mats.
